    Notifications

Path: Settings → Notifications. Canonical in-app route: /settings/notifications/notifications (sign in required).

The Notifications screen controls how you receive alerts in FabHub for the active organization. Preferences are per user (not organization-wide defaults set by an admin). The section is available when your workspace role may open Settings → Notifications (Admin, Manager, or Staff); otherwise the app redirects you away from this page.

You can choose which activities trigger notifications and how they are delivered.

    Plan requirements

System alerts (in-app) are available on every plan, including Free. Email alerts — the Enable Email Alerts switch and the Email column in the module table — require a paid organization plan (Standard, Professional, or Enterprise). On Free, you can still configure System preferences; email controls are disabled and the app shows upgrade options.

    Overview of Notifications Page

In Settings → Notifications, you can:

    • Enable or disable System Alerts
    • Enable or disable Email Alerts
    • Choose which modules send notifications
    • Control delivery per module (System and/or Email)

    System and Email Alerts

Under System and Email Alerts, use the switches:

    • Enable System Alerts — in-app notifications
    • Enable Email Alerts — email to your account address (requires Standard or higher; hidden/disabled on Free — see Plan requirements above)

These act as global controls for each channel. When a channel is off, its column in the module table is disabled and those module checkboxes stay off. Turning a channel on after it was off turns all module checkboxes for that channel on by default (you can still adjust per module).

    Module-Based Notifications

Below, the Notifications table lists modules:

    • Sell
    • Buy
    • Make
    • Check
    • Fix
    • Items
    • Stocks

For each module, you can choose:

    • System — in-app notifications for that module
    • Email — email for that module

You can enable one, both, or neither per module (subject to the global switches above).

    When notifications are delivered

In-app notifications appear in your inbox and the header bell when an event occurs for your organization and your System preferences allow it. Email is sent to your account address when your Email preferences and organization plan allow it (email requires Standard or higher).

Some server-side events use the general category (not listed in the module table). Those follow your Enable System Alerts and Enable Email Alerts master switches only. Module-specific events (Sell, Buy, Make, Check, Fix, Items, Stocks) also respect the per-module System and Email checkboxes for that row.

    Saving Changes

Use Save and Cancel in the footer. Save stores your preferences for this organization immediately (a success toast confirms). There is no separate confirmation dialog on save. If you try to navigate away with unsaved edits, the app may prompt you to save, discard, or stay.

    Best practices

    • Avoid notification overload. Only enable notifications that matter for your role, or you will start ignoring important ones.
    • Use email for critical updates so you stay informed even when you are not in the app.
    • Use system alerts for daily monitoring while you are actively working in FabHub.
    • Customize based on your role (for example, operations may focus on Make/Check/Fix, sales on Sell, inventory on Items/Stocks).
    • Review your settings regularly so they keep up with your responsibilities.
    • If notifications stop appearing, first check the global System and Email switches.
    • Aim for a balance between visibility and focus: enough alerts to stay informed, not so many that they become noise.
